We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Property Manager specializing in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties. In this vital role, you will support the property management team by overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with LIHTC regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service to residents. Your expertise in property management tools, legal administrative processes, and tenant relations will drive the success of our affordable housing communities. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing lease or rental agreement processes, including tenant onboarding, renewals, and terminations, ensuring compliance with LIHTC and Fair Housing regulations
  • Utilize property management software such as RealPage and OneSite to maintain accurate records of resident data, rent payments, and maintenance requests
  • Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses, preparing reports, and managing invoices related to property operations
  • Coordinate property maintenance requests and facilities management tasks to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment for residents
  • Communicate effectively with tenants regarding lease terms, rent collection, and community policies via phone, email, or in person
  • Assist in conducting tenant screenings and background checks in accordance with landlord-tenant law and fair housing standards
  • Collaborate with team members on conflict management strategies to resolve resident issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain organized filing systems for legal documents, contracts, inspection reports, and compliance records
  • Support property leasing efforts through upselling available units and providing excellent customer service during tours or inquiries
  • Contribute to team management by participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews

Experience

  • Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with a focus on LIHTC or affordable housing properties
  • Familiarity with property management tools such as Realpage, OneSite, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 voucher programs, and lease management practices
  • Previous experience handling legal administrative tasks related to contracts, agreements, and compliance documentation
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences
  • Experience managing budgets, data entry tasks, filing systems, and client relationships within a property management setting
  • Ability to manage conflict professionally while maintaining positive resident relations
  • Office experience including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently
