Position Overview -

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician Level 2 to join our team. This intermediate-level role is ideal for a technician who is ready to take on more responsibility, work independently, and apply strong problem-solving skills across a variety of maintenance tasks.

In this role, you will perform a broad range of repairs, troubleshoot issues, and support the overall upkeep of our apartment communities while also collaborating with senior technicians and helping guide less experienced team members.

Compensation and Benefits -

Hourly Rate: $25.00 – $29.00

Essential Position Responsibilities -

  • Manage and prioritize daily work orders using Yardi to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with residents when scheduling service
  • Prepare tools, materials, and equipment needed for each job
  • Independently assess and perform maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Troubleshoot issues and determine appropriate solutions with minimal supervision
  • Accurately document work performed and close out work orders in Yardi
  • Maintain organization and accountability of tools and materials
  • Proactively inspect units and common areas, identifying and addressing maintenance needs
  • Ensure all incomplete work is documented and followed through to completion
  • Assist with diagnostics, installation, and repair of key building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
  • Collaborate with senior technicians on complex repairs and system improvements

Education and Experience -

  • High school diploma required
  • 2–4 years of hands-on experience in maintenance trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall, masonry, etc.) in multifamily housing or similar environments
  • Relevant trade certifications are a plus

Supervisory Responsibilities -

  • This position does not supervise others but assists more experienced technicians as directed.

Physical Requirements -

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and up to 50 pounds to waist height
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and reaching
  • Good vision and overall physical conditioning required

Work Environment -

  • Work is primarily performed in occupied apartments and residential buildings
  • Occasional administrative or office-related tasks as needed
  • Regular interaction with residents in a customer-service-focused environment

Travel Requirements -

  • Must have use of a vehicle to regularly travel to Community Corp. properties, hardware stores, and supply stores within the service area
  • Valid California driver’s license and required insurance
  • Must maintain a satisfactory driving record and consent to DMV pull report
