Director of Development / Senior Project Manager

We specialize in building and preserving affordable housing by partnering with other developers, public agencies, and community groups. We develop projects on behalf of Laing Companies and provide consulting services to external organizations. Role Description

This is a full-time remote role based in California for a Director of Development / Senior Project Manager (depending on experience). The Director of Development / Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development of affordable housing projects from start to finish, including pre-development, financing, acquisition, construction, and perm conversion on behalf of Laing Companies projects. The successful candidate will manage relationships with consultants, lenders, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in affordable housing finance or development
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and devise innovative solutions to overcome challenges
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders
• Experience working with federal, California, and local government funding sources and agencies
• Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Understanding of the complexities of affordable housing and the regulatory environment
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
