Position Overview -

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for purchasing inventory to replenish stock, for managing all inventory control related activities and for handing out/delivering materials to maintenance technicians.

Compensation and Benefits -

The Pay Rate is $22.00 - $24.00. The Inventory Clerk is eligible for the following benefits:

Essential Position Responsibilities -

  • Purchasing supplies/materials to replenish stock
  • Negotiating with vendors for best pricing
  • Travel to hardware or supply store to purchase needed supplies/materials
  • Manage, maintain and update CCSM’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations
  • Manage and control continuous inventory stock counting / inventory accuracy checks
  • Minimize overstocks and remove obsolete / redundant materials
  • Ensure that stock control department is well organized and controlled to sufficiently support demands
  • Ensure incoming supply is processed and managed appropriately
  • Ensure materials are ready and available when maintenance technicians need them
  • Follow-up on materials that are late or on back order until materials are received
  • Provide routine updates and status reports to management on inventory performance including monitoring and evaluating material and usage costs and conducting audits of inventory
  • Perform cyclic stock checks
  • Hand out/deliver supplies/materials and tools to maintenance technicians
  • Ensure that all stock has been correctly allocated to each work order
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time

Education and Experience -

The Inventory Clerk position requires a high school diploma and/or equivalent experience, two years of experience in warehouse inventory or other inventory-related experience and basic math skills needed to balance a ledger.

Supervisory Responsibilities -

The position does not involve any supervisory or management responsibility.

Physical Requirements -

This position will require daily use of office equipment and moving around an office environment. Inventory Clerk must be able to physically walk and survey and inspect the properties daily. Will be exposed to outdoor elements. Must be able to lift, push and/or pull up to 25 pounds. Must be able to push and maneuver trash bins/cans.

Work Environment -

This position is performed in a small warehouse environment, handling, moving and counting physical inventory. This position also involves sitting at a desk and processing paperwork and using the computer.

Travel Requirements -

The Inventory Clerk must have use of a vehicle to regularly travel by car to hardware stores, supply stores and within the CCSM service area. The Inventory Clerk must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license and legally required insurance and agree to allow CCSM to obtain access to the DMV pull report.
